September, 2010 Is Hunger Action Month

Hunger Action Month arrives on September 1, 2010, and with it, the chance for folks to help fight domestic hunger. The non-profit organization behind Hunger Action Month--Feeding America--suggests a number of ways in which people can help out during September, including donations, pledges, volunteering, calling members of Congress, cooking for children, attending local events, shopping for a cause, organizing food drives, and much more.

Feeding American helps out tens of millions of people annually via a nationwide network of food banks and agencies. In Massachusetts, the Greater Boston Food Bank in the South Bay section of Boston is part of the network, as is the Worcester County Food Bank in Shrewsbury and the The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts in Hatfield.
